We’ve all got a sweet spot — a shot we love to hit, or a distance we’ve got dialed in.
Consider it the same for photographers, who find a place with the perfect light, the perfect framing for a shot, and keep going to the well.
For Adam Hagy, who’s shooting the Tour Championship for the USA Today Network, that spot was nestled alongside the fourth fairway — not far from the tee box — and once he found it, he started snapping. And kept snapping.
Hagy is an Atlanta-based freelance photographer and editor with a sports focus since 2014. He grew up in Fayetteville, Georgia, and graduated with a logistics degree from Macon State University. He’s been to multiple Super Bowls, Final Fours, and works with us at USA Today as well as CNN, Turner, the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta United.
He gave us some insight on the location before the third round.
“I settled there because nobody can get in my shot,” Hagy said by phone.
Without further delay, we present to you Adam Hagy’s unintentional photo essay: “Between an East Lake tree.”
