That playoff was over as soon as it started, after Oosthuizen sliced his tee shot into the water. The led to a double bogey in the alternate shot format leaving Cam Smith with a six foot par putt, which he holed, to win.  A fully accredited victory goes to each player meaning its Leishman's sixth PGA Tour title in 303 events. Smith secures his third win in 144 events and makes it two wins at the Zurich having also claimed the title with Jonas Blixt in 2017.

Key to the win was the drivable par-4 16th hole.  First Smith's tee shot on a tight line looked perfect but took a bounce straight left into the water.  Then, after a penalty drop, Leishman incredibly chipped in from 24 feet to revive Australian hopes while the South Africans failed to make birdie. 

The pair were 11/1 pre tournament with bookmakers.
