What’s In The Bag Taylor Moore 2023 Valspar Championship Winner

Paint a dramatic finish?  The Valspar did exactly that with American Taylor Moore claiming his first PGA Tour title at Innisbrook Resort.

As ever the tight and tricky Copperhead Course proved one of the Tour's toughest and try as they might, Moore's clubhouse target of 10 under par after four days could not be matched by any of his rivals, most notably Jordan Spieth and Tommy Fleetwood.

The other name in the race was Adam Schenk who could have forced a playoff but for some rotten luck on the 18th which saw his ball come to rest just inches from the base of a tree. Schenk's left handed recovery was genius but left him too much to do to force extra holes.

For both Spieth and Fleetwood, despite disappointment in the moment, there were huge positives heading towards The Masters with both showing much more than flashes of their best.

The win jumps Moore from 103rd in the Official World Golf Rankings to a career high 49th.

Using his Ping G430 LST driver Moore hit 29 fairways at Copperhead and averaged 306.4 yards, 10th in the field.  Key to the win was his iron play, 50 greens in regulation with his Ping S55 irons, T2 in the field. For the week the 29 year old rolled in 16 birdies with his Ping PLD Oslo 4 prototype putter versus just 4 bogeys and one double.
