Golf Corona Latest: Ryder Cup Off To 2021, GMac Champ Out After +ve Tests And Rory May Have Spoke Too Soon

God help all the embroidery people who worked so hard to print the Ryder Cup 2020 logo on all the merchandise. It's off.
The official announcement is due next week, Whistling Straits must now wait for Ryder Cup 2021 after a majority of players and stakeholders voted for a postponement.
After the positive Coronavirus tests on the PGA Tour last week, most notably to Nick Watney who spent time with Rory McIlroy (possibly when infected), Rory's words that European Tour golfers have no excuse for not playing on the PGA Tour during the Corona crisis are starting to ring hollow.

“If I were in their shoes and I was asked to come over to the States and shelter in place or quarantine for two weeks before these tournaments, I would have done that,” he said. “I honestly don't understand guys complaining.

Ouch.
Aswell as Nick Watney,  Cameron Champ tested positive last week but was kept on the down low.
As was the news GMac's caddie Kenny Comboy tested positive after taking a “packed” commercial flight to Orlando after Colonial two weeks ago. Since then Ken attended a funeral with GMac
and the pair drove for 6 hours in a car together home from Hilton Head last week.
Comboy reported a sore throat and GMac has withdrawn from The Travelers this week as a precaution.
