Reed’s ball bounced and yet magically became “embedded”. No of course it didn't. But Reed was clearly told by a volunteer that she did not see the ball bounce.
What Reed did then however was baffling given he knew there were cameras on the group. He quickly picks up the ball and throws it aside. Then calls for an official.
Surely if there's any question as to whether its embedded, you identify it, mark it, and leave it in position until the official arrives?
Even if you do pick it up surely you do so with a surgical two fingered lift just slightly hovering over its embedded position?
The rules official Brad Fabel arrives, gets dictated loudly to by Reed, shown a dent in the grass (the ball bounced in remember!) , and seems to meekly comply without ever questioning who moved the ball or why?
The interview after was even worse. Reed seems to be 100% confident he did nothing wrong. Even after saying a bouncing ball cant possibly embed, he then explains how his was very much embedded.
God help us if this is what the world is coming to.
