Aaron Rai’s Winning Bag M6 Driver Two Gloves And Knockoff Iron Covers?

One week on from a bitter loss at the Irish Open, Aaron Rai showed his mettle to claim victory in the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.
The big money Roles Series event attracted some of the big names that had been missing of late from the European Tour and one of the biggest of them all, Tommy Fleetwood, would be Rai's playoff opponent after 72 holes couldn't separate them.

In normal time 25 year old Rai stormed through the field with a Sunday 64 to set the clubhouse lead of 11 under only to see Fleetwood hole from 20 feet at the last for birdie to tie him.  Cometh the hour cometh the big gun.
But rather than firing on all cylinders Fleetwood jammed in sudden death, three putting from off the green for bogey, with Rai's ball in his pocket after a sandy par.
And so the young Englishman claimed his second European Tour win (after the 2018 Hong Kong Open).  After missing out on the €199,750 winners cheque in Ireland, seven days later Rai banked €974,352.96 and jumps 40 places to fifth in the Race To Dubai rankings.
This week there's another €7 million in the prize pot as the Tour heads to Wentworth for the BMW Championship.

What's In The Winning Bag of Aaron Rai

Rai is not contracted to TaylorMade but prefers to use their clubs.  After testing the latest SIM woods Rai opted to keep his older M6 driver in the bag but does game the SIM Max fairway wood.
A TM GAPR Hi was needed for “links” and he  uses P7TW irons from 4 to 9. Instead of a pitching wedge, he carries four Vokey SM8 wedges from 46 to 64 degrees and uses the very popular Spider X putter.

There's loads of chatter on social media of some of Rai's personal preferences of using two gloves and having iron covers on his irons but I cant believe the one about having the numbers on his irons blacked out with a sharpie!

Driver: TaylorMade M6 (9 deg at 9.5) with an Aldila NV Blue 70 S shaft.
