Doc's Five Best Each Way Bets
Sergio Garcia 25/1
First start of the year so there are some unknowns but you have to respect Sergio at Emirates Golf Club. He will still pound more greens than 90% of the field with his ball striking which gives him a huge advantage here. Winner in 2017 and T6 last year and looks to pick up where he left off after a very strong end to 2021.
Adri Arnaus 70/1
Finished last year strong with a couple of top-10's and started his 2022 with a T20 in Abu Dhabi. Was hampered there by a not great driving accuracy performance on Yas Links. Everything else was firing though and he'll be in the mix this week for sure. T9 here last year and T3rd the year before.
Ian Poulter 40/1
T6 in his last two starts, the latest in Abu Dhabi last week and before that in Dubai at the Tour Championship. Looked solid last week, the only question is will this be a year where 24 under wins or 9 under wins? If it's the latter, a tough test, Poults can contend. T-3rd in 2019 and T-6th in 2018.
Robert MacIntryre 55/1
Don't overlook Bob MacIntyre after his missed cut last week. Playing in crap conditions Friday things got on top of him and his round unravelled…..it happens. I think he'll do much better in Dubai because in his two previous starts he started bad in one and finished bad in the other, yet still managed to finish in the top-10 in both. That experience banked it expect he'll contend.
Lucas Herbert 60/1
Winner on both the PGA and European Tours last year and the champion here in 2020. Rested and ready after a rust shaker at the TOC I have a feeling he'll do well again this year.
