2021 Honda Classic Betting Tips
March 18th – 21st, 2021
PGA National Champion Course
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
Par: 70 / Yardage: 7,125
Purse: $7 million with $1,260,000 to the winner
Defending Champion: Sungjae Im
What a week it was at The Players
and as always the Honda will be a bit more sedate. Lee Westwood after two second place finishes is in the field but must be physically and mentally exhausted. PGA National however is not the place to come for a rest; the par 70 is one of the Tour's toughest tracks and winds are ever present and ever switching in Palm Beach Gardens.
Doc's Top 5 Each Way Betting Tips
Daniel Berger 13/1
Lost a playoff to Padraig Harrington in 2015 here and contended again last year before finishing T4. Already a winner at Pebble Beach this year Berger battled gamely last Sunday in Sawgrass for a T9.
Shane Lowry 28/1
No top-20 from three starts at PGA National but you have to imagine an extremely difficult course in perpetually windy conditions has to play into his hands. Found form with a solo 8th at Sawgrass after a putting grip change so confidence will be high.
Adam Scott 30/1
Letting us punters down of late but cant be far away. His irons into 17 at Sawgrass were vintage excellence and this week his putting weaknesses will not be as exposed as singe digits under par always gets the job done. Winner here in 2016 and top-20 on his last two visits.
Brendan Steele 40/1
Solid journeyman every week out on Tour and cashes in on occasion. T4 in the wind at Sony as he was also at PGA National last year. On a subdued week after The Players watch out for Steele to grab some cash.
Maverick McNealy 100/1
Learning that life as a PGA Tour player is tough with plenty of missed cuts. However his solo 2nd at home in Pebble Beach shows he can contend and I think PGA National will be more to his liking. Impressed me with a T11 here on his debut, 100/1 are great odds for a place.
