Doc's 5 Best Each Way Betting Tips
Alex Noren 22/1
Former winner of this event in 2017 and coming into real form of late. T9 at the BMW where he destroyed the par-3's and T4 before that at the Northern Trust. Circled 45 birdies in his last two starts and nailed on to be in the mix here.
Henrik Stenson 40/1
Huge career experience at Wentworth but only three since 2014 for Henrik. This year there's a special reason to be in form and contending…the Ryder Cup. Has to be on Padraig Harrington's short list with Garcia, Rose et al after a T4 at the Czech Masters, solo 3rd in Switzerland with a 63 on Sunday and T15 last time out in Italy where he clipped in at T3 in greens hit. Traditionally finds his best form in September and has to be an each way look.
Shane Lowry 18/1
Four top-10's at Wentworth in 11 starts for Shane and celebrating the birth of his second child, Ivy, just a few days ago. Sometimes a joyous moment or family event leads to a player playing happy and care free golf and that could be the case on a course that Lowry loves. By my calculations he's THE most consistent player on this course over the last eight years, having only once been outside the top-15. All the signs are good.
Christian Bezuidenhout 33/1
Third start at Wentworth and has a best of T3 in 2019. Hard to find value in the odds always here, but Bez fits the bill. Jets in after a 8 under final round at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship where he finished solo 3rd and confidence will be high.
Bernd Wiesberger 40/1
Out at 40/1 having never scored a top-10 at Wentworth in nine tries. But I'm convinced Bernd has the game to contend. Winner at the Himmerland this year, T5 at the BMW International, solo 2nd in Crans a couple of weeks ago, I think he'll be up there this week.
Long Odds Glory Shots
Wentworth is a strange old course and seems to diverge from form every year! Former champ Danny Willett is 90/1, Fran Molinari is 66/1; both really struggling for form. My advice is to wait for a couple of rounds before betting on anyone over 60/1 this week.
