Bernd Wiesberger 22/1

Made the cut at the US Open last time out as he also did at the PGA Championship so Bernd is operating at a high level this late in the year. T5 at the UK Championship at the UK Championship last month behind new star Rasmus Hojgaard. Defending champion this week but bear in mind the Scottish Open is usually held in fine Summer weather just before The Open. For my the late season Alfred Dunhill Links is a much better yardstick for this weeks action and Wiesberger has always done well there also. Got to top your betslip.
Erik Van Rooyen 28/1
It was only a matter of time until the South African would leave our Tour for life in the big leagues of the PGA Tour so it's great to see him back this week. T23 at the US Open last time out and looking for a second European Tour win a year on from his Scandinavian Invitational victory.
Joakim Lagergren 55/1
The absolute each way bet of the week is Joakim Lagergren at 55/1. T3 in Portugal then T5 at the Irish Open last week and he's a terrific links player. Top-4 finishes in three of the last five Dunhill Links stagings testify to that. The bookies have made a big oversight here and expect them to correct it before the event starts.
Romain Langasque 40/1
Recent winner of the Wales Open at Celtic Manor and acquitted himself well at Winged Foot a couple of weeks ago with a T34 finish. Success on links includes winning the 2015 Amateur Championship at Carnoustie and the Frenchman placed third at the 2019 Scottish Open on this course.
Victor Perez 55/1
Another Frenchman worth a watch this week is Victor Perez. Winner on this last week last year at the Alfred Dunhill Links. Really struggled badly playing on the PGA Tour post lockdown but improved to a T22 finish at the PGA Championship. Hopefully memories of last year and plenty of links practice from time spent living in Dundee will help.
Long Odds Glory Shot
Marc Warren 250/1
Winner in 2020 in Austria. Always a great performer at the Dunhill Links late in the season. If the conditions turn Scottish nasty at the weekend look for a home player to grit it out.
