T4 at The Sony but cooled to a T36 two weeks back at The American Express. Leader last year after three rounds before a Sunday 73 dropped him to a finishing T6. Owned the par-4’s then in a tidy overall performance across the three tracks and I think he can place again this week.
Troy Merritt 110/1
Forgotten by the bookies after a poor start to the year but we’re on the West Coast now and it’s a very different form of golf. Four top-25’s here since 2018, banking almost $750,000 including a T4 last year. Happy memories bring confidence.
Maverick McNealy 20/1
Stanford grad at home on these courses. Maybe suffered from the weight of expectation last year after coming T5 and solo 2nd in 2020 and 2021 but with another year under his belt and a solid start to 2023 with a T7 at The Sony, Mav is positioned to do well here.
Joel Dahmen 40/1
T6 last year after destroying the field on the par-5’s (-11). First start of the year after spending time at home with his newborn baby. Finished 2022 like a steam train and I think he’ll love this week.
Seamus Power 22/1
The golfing Gods owe Seamus one after last year here where he led by a mile after two rounds only to slip to T9 at the end. With wins in 2021 and 2022 and solid play since including a T20 in Abu Dhabi last time out, The Power is worth an each way look.
